Alive a little longer

On a short walk today there were landscapers working around the neighborhood trimming trees and bushes. I noticed small piles of these trimmed flowering bushes around the sidewalk. I thought about the flowers that were sitting in the midday sun - just moments before they were untrimmed and living and breathing and now in a pile.

As I walked by I saw the blooming flowers laying on the ground in the pile and picked up a generous handful and took them back to my house and added them to water.

Alive a little longer.

I looked closer at the flowers and noticed how amazing each one was. From far away the details are insignificant but on closer inspection and little world opens up. I kept the lens slightly out of focus - it reminded me of an abstract dream. There are worlds around us that go unseen. We bunch things up and make everyday beauty mundane.

Look deeper around you. Walk without your phone in your hand. Think about little things that seem insignificant. You just might find a new world.
